Active Travel Week with Energy Fm and Spar takes place from 28th March until 3rd April. It is a government-lead initiative encouraging you to actively travel from A to B as much as you can. Cycle 360 is supporting this initiative in various ways, including encouraging all staff and customers to actively travel to work and providing top tips for commuting to work.
WHAT IS ACTIVE TRAVEL WEEK?
Active Travel Week is about celebrating leaving the car at home and using an active alternative to get to work. Whether this is cycling, walking, running, scooting, or skating, Cycle 360 will be encouraging everyone to actively travel!
Travelling actively is a great way to get fit and to support your physical and mental wellbeing. It is also a greener alternative and can help reduce our carbon emissions. Not forgetting, you will save money on petrol or bus fares!
Each day of Active Travel Week will cover a different theme including ‘Walk to Work Day’ on Tuesday 29th March, and ‘Cycle to Work Day’ on Friday 1st April. However, as long as you actively travel via whichever means is most accessible to you, then that’s fine by us!
Active Travel Week is from 28th March – 3rd April
ACTIVE TRAVEL WEEK WITH CYCLE 360
During Active Travel Week, we will be promoting active travel by showcasing various commuter bikes available online and in-store.
For those new to commuting via bike – or new to cycling full stop – an e-bike is the perfect investment.
E-bikes are a great way of travelling actively
E-bikes have a built-in electric motor for added power and thrust, with most kicking in by simply pedalling and hitting the relevant button on your handlebars. They allow commuters to have an effortless ride whilst carrying a load, meaning you can get to work without breaking a sweat! You can read more about e-bikes in our e-bike buying guide here, or pop in and speak to our friendly and experienced bikeshop team.
If you already own a bike, we will be highlighting some key accessories and kit needed to make cycling to work safer, more accessible, and comfortable in any weather conditions too.
The Cycle 360 workshop team is also available for bookings six days a week, Monday to Saturday – so, you can ensure your bike is safe and ready to ride to work! Read more about the work our mechanics do here or get in touch to book a service by emailing workshop@cycle360.com.
Finally, ‘Cycle to Work Day’ is on Friday 1st April. Cycle 360 will be at the NSC raceway from 12-2pm for the Bike 4 Life open day. This is a great opportunity to improve your cycling skills in the company of cycling instructors with a series of fun cycle activities and challenges. Or, you can simply just cycle in a fun, safe and fully inclusive environment.
