Cycling Club Isle of Man: Inspiring the Future of Cycling

As cycling becomes increasingly prevalent, the need for supportive communities and organisations that encourage and nurture cyclists’ talent has never been more vital. Cycling Club Isle of Man (CC Isle of Man) is inspiring the future of cycling through its unique approach as a community club.

Supporting Team Sports

CC Isle of Man, has been set up as part of Sporting Club Isle of Man with the overall vision of: ‘creating and developing Isle of Man-based sports teams that will provide wide-ranging benefits to the Island’s community including access to, and a route into, professional sport.’

“As an Island, we have consistently produced world-class athletes from a relatively small population. Individuals have competed on the world stage at the Commonwealth Games, winter and summer Olympics, and within professional teams across a breadth of sports.

To date, the vast majority of those supported through to elite levels have come from individual sports.  We want to enable similar opportunities for Isle of Man based sports teams, and the individuals within them, to develop the character and capabilities required to bridge the gap between amateur and professional levels have been much more difficult to obtain.” – Sporting Club Isle of Man.

“Cycling has a strong heritage on the Isle of Man and, similarly to football, we believe there are enough men and women from the Isle of Man who would benefit from a Continental cycling team being based on the Island to make the project worthwhile. The creation of both teams the men’s and women’s has the full support of the Isle of Man Cycling Association.” – Cycling Club Isle of Man.

Cycle 360 x CC Isle of Man

We know cycling isn’t just about the physical and wellbeing elements; it is also a highly competitive team sport full of camaraderie, team tactics and passion that brings people together. By supporting CC Isle of Man, we aim to grow awareness of the community club.  And by fostering this supportive community, Cycle 360 has stepped into help as a local bikeshop giving cyclists access to much needed resources they need to excel and enjoy their racing experience to the fullest.

Cycle 360 provides the community club with general bike maintenance with labour at free of charge, and components and parts discounted for all CC IOM riders. Cycle 360’s workshop mechanics conduct pre-race bike inspections for all riders and subject to timelines and budgets each race, also provide a team mechanic.

In addition, Cycle 360 has donated five Specialised S-Works helmets in the Manx flag colours, plus spare wheels for riders to take away with them should they need them.

Facilitating Growth

CC Isle of Man is not just about promoting cycling as a sport, but also about facilitating its growth at all levels.

We recognise the importance of nurturing young talent and inspiring the next generation of cyclists. By investing resources into the club, Cycle 360 is actively contributing to the development of a cycling culture that encourages young riders to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. Through training mentorship and competitive opportunities, the club is helping promising athletes by providing them with the platform to flourish.
