Cycle 360 Supported Athletes Season Highlights and Shoutouts
What a wild ride this season has been for our incredible riders on the Cycle 360 Supported Athlete Programme for 2024. Each has faced challenges and celebrated victories, all while repping the 360 colours proudly. Here’s the scoop on their journeys and how the Cycle 360 Supported Athlete Programme has been a game-changer for them!
Eric’s Rollercoaster Ride: Even with the wedding bells and honeymoon, Eric squeezed in the last race of the British National XC Series in Tong, Bradford. Snagging 14th due to a few mechanical snags was tough. He dropped from 5th to 9th in the overall series standings — not what he hoped for, but hey, that’s racing! Big up to Cycle 360 for keeping his ride smooth and spirits high all season. Eric’s already gearing up for next year with eyes on the podium. “Big thanks to Cycle 360 for the support, funding my races in the UK and keeping my bike in top condition!”.
Emily’s Gritty Push: From the peaks of the British National XC Champs to the tough terrains of the Hors Categorie races in France, Emily has faced it all this season. Despite battling illnesses and a packed work schedule, she’s placed strong at several events, including an 8th in Belgium and dual 3rds at the IOM Gran Fondo. “The support from C360 has been incredible through a challenging year. The high moments like Houffalize remind me of my potential!”
Saskia’s Trailblazing Triumphs: It’s been a monumental year for Saskia! Not only did she conquer the 4 Cross National Championships, but she also introduced her little ones to the racing world at the Balance Bike World Champs, with her two year old daughter snagging the World Champs jersey! On the home front, Saskia crushed her first-ever Gran Fondo with a sub-6hr finish and nailed a silver at the Enduro National Championships. “So grateful for every cheer and tune-up from the Cycle 360 crew. You guys are the best!”
Mike’s Marathon Month: Mike has been on fire, balancing a slew of events like the 360 2-day Enduro, the Gran Fondo (where he managed a PB of 5 hours 6 minutes!) and Le Dans 24h, where he impressively clinched 4th overall. He’s not stopping there, with the upcoming social Tour de Farms ride, and more enduro action lined up. “Shoutout to Cycle 360 for the amazing support and for keeping me race-ready. Can’t wait to tackle the upcoming challenges and keep the season going for a further few months!”.
Caitlin’s Championship Chase: Caitlin clinched 2nd in the U24 category at the Calfman Triathlon, overcoming a mass swim start and a challenging cross-country run. Her excellent performance has earned her a spot at next year’s AG World Championships in Australia! “I’m so grateful for Cycle 360’s support; having my gear in top shape really boosts my confidence,” says Caitlin. As she prepares for her upcoming events, she’s excited about the potential to showcase her skills on the global stage.
Brad’s Breakthrough: What an absolute hero! Brad not only won the Le Dans 24-hour race but also smashed the record with an unbelievable 727km covered in just 23 hours and 40 minutes of non-stop cycling. His phenomenal performance sets a new benchmark for endurance and determination.
And that’s a wrap!
With such amazing stories from all our athletes this season, the spirit at Cycle 360 is soaring! Each athlete, from Eric’s resilience to Emily’s perseverance, Saskia’s trailblazing, Mike’s marathon of events, Caitlin’s global ambitions, and now Brad’s record-setting ride, embodies the strength and spirit of our community. Supported by the Cycle 360 team, they’ve not only met challenges head-on but have also uplifted and inspired us all.
