Get Your Entries in for the Corrin’s Folly Mountain Biking Event

What is destined to be one of the highlights of the Isle of Man sporting calendar in 2021 is now just three months away.

The Cycle 360 Corrin’s Folly Challenge will take place on Sunday, August 22 and is expected to attract a high number of participants and spectators alike.

The endurance mountain biking challenge is open to anyone aged 13 or over with a total of four different classes to enter (juvenile, youth, junior and senior).

Starting and finishing at the Transport Museum near Peel Harbour, the course will include part of the old Railway Line, a section of the Raggatt and a mixture of hard surface, muddy lanes and footpaths with classes from one lap (juvenile) to five laps (seniors) and a range of prizes up for grabs.

Following a marked route designed by the Manx Mud Club which is providing input along with organisers of the Longest Day Longest Ride, the event is being supported and staged by Peel Town Commissioners and Cycle 360.

The innovative cycling hub, comprising a gym, class studio, bike shop and cafe, continues to invest heavily in supporting cycling in the Isle of Man and has created an event website which is being updated regularly and provides information about the course, how to prepare for the big day and those all-important entry details.

The time-trial caters for everyone from beginners to seasoned riders, culminating in an undulating descent and is being run under British Cycling regulations and overseen by a British Cycling Commissaire.

The challenge will make it a full day-out in Peel for spectators with the Juvenile and Youth (ages 13-16) races starting at 9:45am, the Junior (ages 17-18) at 11am, and the Senior, Master, Veteran, Grand Vet, Super Vet races (ages 19+) setting off at 12:15pm. Organisers have arranged local food and drink vans for the day for all to enjoy. A prize presentation will complete the day at around 4pm.

Sacha Horsthuis, Head of Marketing & Events at Cycle 360, said: ‘Cycle 360 is excited to be the title sponsor of this unique event for the next three years, and believe it has the potential to be a very memorable day  for both mountain bikers of all ages and spectators too’

‘As a brand which promotes sport, health and wellbeing for everyone not just the elite, we feel Cycle 360 is a natural fit to offer support for events such as this one as this particular mountain biking challenge will provide participants with an inevitable sense of achievement after every lap.’
