Cycle 360 is proud to announce that it will once again be the Official Cycle Partner of Isle of Man Gran Fondo 2024!
For the fourth consecutive year running, Cycle 360’s involvement will include on the day expert mechanic support, essential bike shop services and for the first time: its ‘Stella Catering’ van, which will be on hand to fuel all riders and spectators before and after each of the fondos.
As well as the main event: the Gran Fondo, the weekend sees five different cycling events over 27-28 July 2024, aimed at all cyclists’ abilities and fun for all of the family based in Mooragh Park, Ramsey, here’s how each of the fondos look:
Aimed at families and beginners, the 32 km Piccolo Fondo winds its way around the flatter farmland of the Island’s northern plains, through a patchwork of tiny villages and church steeples, set amongst the fields and blooming hedgerows.
The family-friendly Minisculo Fondo, held over a 1 km circuit in and around Ramsey’s Mooragh Park is open to children, families and beginners. Participants can complete as many laps as they want in an hour’s worth of riding in a safe, fully closed roads environment.
For recreational riders who want to test themselves that little bit further, the 72 km Medio Fondo boasts one of the Island’s most challenging ascents – as well as one of its very best descents – the Medio offers riders the perfect balance of effort and reward.
UCI Individual Time Trial
The Individual Time Trial takes in the climb of Snaefell Mountain on the infamous Isle of Man TT motorcycle racing circuit. The parcours covers just 9 km but should not be underestimated, with a total of 400 meters of climbing to overcome.
Riders can use this event to qualify for the Time Trial at the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Final in Italy.
UCI Gran Fondo
Whether racing to win, or riding to finish, the Gran Fondo Isle of Man is a true test of legs and lungs – one that rewards competitors with an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. Gran Fondo Isle of Man boasts 6,500ft of spectacular climbing around a largely closed road course. Clocking in at the slightly modest distance of 85miles, it would be foolish to underestimate the challenging nature of the Grand Fondo!
