Time running out to enter inaugural cycling challenge

There is still time left to enter into the inaugural Cycle 360 Corrin’s Folly Challenge due to take place in Peel on Sunday, August 22, open to anyone aged 13 or over.

There are a total of four different classes (juvenile, youth, junior and senior) for the event which will see riders complete an allotted number of laps of the undulating course for their age category.

Beginners can take it easy and the seasoned biker can challenge themselves and, with no mass start and 20 or so seconds in between each rider, it’s you against your own time.

And with many prizes up for grabs in each age category, everyone can have a go and has a chance of winning something.

With local food and drink vans in situ throughout the day and some great vantage points, it’s also a fun day out for spectators as well as participants.

The Juvenile and Youth (ages 13-16) races are due to start at 9:45am, the Junior (ages 17-18) at 11am, and the Senior, Master, Veteran, Grand Vet, Super Vet races (ages 19+) setting off at 12:15pm before a prize presentation at around 4pm.

Sacha Horsthuis, Head of Marketing at Cycle 360, said: ‘We’re excited to be title sponsor of this unique event, not least because it includes the infamous Corrin’s Folly climb, but because the event has the potential to be a very memorable day for mountain bikers of all ages and spectators wanting a day out in Peel too.’

‘Cycle 360 is associated with events that are all inclusive to both competitive, experienced riders, and importantly, newcomers too or to those that simply enjoy riding their bikes and aren’t too fussed about where they come in a race, so the Corrin’s Folly Challenge course – which has been specifically designed by Manx Mud Club – provides all mountain bikers an opportunity to challenge themselves.’
