Brew Monday at Cycle 360 with Samaritans

Cycle 360 will host Samaritans ‘Brew Monday’ event at Cycle 360 on 17th January from 12-2pm. Members of the public are invited to join in and have a “cuppa”.

Brew Monday is a Samaritans takeover of ‘Blue Monday’. This is the third Monday in January, often dubbed ‘the most difficult day of the year’.

‘At Samaritans we know there’s no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’ and that feeling low isn’t just reserved for Mondays or a random day in January. So, we’re saying out with the blue and in with the brew!’, Gill Porter of Samaritans Isle of Man says.

‘On Brew Monday 2022, we’ll be reminding people that there’s always time for a cuppa and a catch-up. It doesn’t matter if it’s Monday morning or Saturday night… It doesn’t matter if you catch up virtually, in person or over the phone. If you’re sharing a cuppa and listening, then you’re doing it right.’

Sinead Nudd, Deputy Director for outreach at Samaritans Isle of Man has said that, ‘Samaritans are delighted to be able to have space in the cafe over the lunchtime period on Monday 17 January (traditionally known as Blue Monday) to share information about the support Samaritans can offer.’

‘Cycle 360 have been so receptive to working with us on our Brew Monday plans and we really appreciate their support in sharing the message with the Isle of Man community that Samaritans are here to listen’, she added.

Anyone is welcome to drop by the Brew Monday event on Monday 17th January between 12-2pm for a hot drink and a chat.
